Born and raised in Essex, England singer, songwriter, producer and DJ Chris Church AKA Alter Fett began his musical journey at 15 DJ’ing locally in the 90’s House and Drum and Bass scene. Chris quickly impressed local promoters who had nights booked in London and at just 17, not even old enough to be in the clubs he found himself on the bill at London’s Ministry Of Sound, Heaven in Charing Cross, The Gardening Club in Covent Garden and KM in mainland Spain. His love for the music he played led Chris to purchase various studio kit where he began producing his own tracks.

 

Chris’ love for creativity and production software, be it audio or visual was evident and he landed himself a role in TV as a Camera Operator and Editor enabling him to produce short films, cut music videos for various artists as well as crafting musical scores for commercials.

 

During this period Chris was continuing to develop his musical sound forming three bands, Blue Dabbler an experimental psychedelic electronic project, Cartel, an indie rock project and Solastar, a four piece indie band playing on the London gig circuit at venues including Barfly, The Bull & Gate in Kentish Town and the 12 Bar Club in Denmark Street. The band eventually folded and this gave rise to Alter Fett.

 

Combining his skills as a music producer and filmmaker Alter Fett takes you on a beautiful rhythmic and visual journey. It’s a fusion of deep emotive lyrics combined with beats inspired from his days in the club scene. With elements of Drum and Bass, melancholy and love for string arrangements, Alter Fett's music tells stories with both up and down tempo tracks which no-doubt will resonate with many.
